F1 : Halo save lives!

Halo an angel shaped device.

Since the introduction of Halo in 2018 we have seen it saving lives. Last Sunday it saved Guanyu Zhou's life from a disastrous accident in Silverstone. Halo has been one of the best innovation in Formula One.
But many teams opposed the idea of halo because they felt it was ugly, unnecessary, it's extra weight and most important it was expensive. There was report stating 9 of 10 teams didn't want the ugly halo. Halo cost 20k Dollars when it was introduced in 2017. To fit a Halo teams have to redesign the chassis of the F1 car.

Racing director Charlie Whiting kept on fighting for the implementation of Halo in F1. Even after many criticism FIA and Charlie made it mandatory for teams to have in their cars. After the crash at Silverstone Speaking to Sky Sports, Hamilton takes the time to reflect on what the halo has already prevented. "Thank God the halo is there and that Charlie kept fighting for it. It saved my life and the lives of so many others, but we need to do more. If the car was in flames, for example, it would be a very different scenario."
The FIA continuously monitors and assesses safety in motorsport and halo has consistently demonstrated its value. It's difficult to find somebody who will speak out against it five years after its debut.
