Round 1 of ISL 2020-21 ended with a bang.
Here are some highlights from matches.
ATK Mohun Bagan 1 - 0 Kerala Blasters
Manvir Sing entered the pitch in 2nd half and made an impact for ATK Mohun Bagan. Kerala Blasters had some good moments but didn't quite convert the chances. Blasters had 68% possession and also had 512 passes twice the ATK players made.
Roy Krishna who scored 15 goals last season had scored the opening goal of the season.
North East United 1 - 0 Mumbai City FC
Mumbai had majority possession in 1st half and looked good with the ball but, Janhou received a red card in the 43rd minute for his silly tackle on camera. This put the city boys on backfoot.
Attacking players from both the team had a sloppy performance. however NorthEast won the penalty for handball by Borges. NorthEast striker Appiah converted the chance and bagged 3 points for the team.
FC Goa 2 - 2 Bengaluru FC
FC Goa had a comeback from 2-0 down and ended the game with 2-2. New signing Igor Angulo saves the day for FC Goa, he scored twice in 2nd half.
Bengaluru didn't handle the pressure from FC Goa in 2nd half. Superstar Sunil Chhetri was not able to make his mark in this match.
Odisha FC 0 - 1 Hyderabad FC
Adriane Santan's spot-kick helped Hyderabad FC to take away 3 points.
Hyderabad FC is the only team from Round 1 of ISL who won the game after having majority possession.
Jamshedpur FC 1 - 2 Chennayin FC
Anirudh Thappa scored the opening goal in 52 seconds of the match.
Thappa becomes the first Indian to score a goal this season.
